Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained minister of the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix discovered early that she was gifted in running while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. At her first attempt, she placed among the top two athletes at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 200-meter sprint in only 10 weeks. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic gold medal during the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record running 200 meters for 22.18. She became the youngest 200-meter world champion in the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007 beating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top third in each of her events in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
